The standalone version of MIDI Guitar was designed to be a handy little host of plugins, that does not depend on a complex DAW recording system, making it ideal for rehearsals, live performances or for when you just need a quick creativity boost.

Cakewalk by BandLab includes VST instruments and VST audio effects, while also allowing for 3rd party VSTs to be used within the program. VSTs become available to use after being scanned in via the VST Scanner. While installing, you will see the location where a certain plugin’s VST file will be located. It includes 30 instruments from a free VST Piano, Violins, Flutes, Saxophones, Choirs, Acoustic Guitar and Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums and more. Cakewalk by BandLab. Windows only Previously called Sonar Platinium, Cakewalk by BandLab is now free (!). It includes high quality plugins of all sorts.
